Beihai in Guangxi

China travels topic is appearing more frequently nowadays.  Obviously this can be attributed to my China travel bug and   keen interest about the ways the various ethnic groups within China live. Perhaps it also has to do with the fact that current news affairs are just plain depressing. The riot in London shows that there is something rotten within the British society that has been swept under the carpet, despite having the so-called ‘free press’. The current financial turmoil is another case in point, where US congressmen are displaying stupid brinksmanships, bringing the world into the verge of economic collapse.

Beihai is a coastal city in Guangxi. It is a small city (but growing rapidly) by China standard, and it has the kind of  relaxed  settings that appeals very much to me as can be viewed in following Travelogue series of documentary :
