Funing in Yunnan

Funing (富宁) is the town in Yunnan that is closest to Guangxi. Infact, it is the eastern gate of Yunnan.  The county is famous for star anise (bajiao), which is mainly used as spice.

The Zhuang ethnic group comprises the largest ethnic group here, where ethnic groups like Zhuang, Yao, Miao, Yi  etc, make up to 76% of population. The impression that I have from the documentary is that this is a small town in China where people live comfortably.  An inland harbour is being built to link the waterway of this region with that of the Zhujiang river, which runs in Guangxi and Guandong, that ultimately leads to the sea.
