Don’t Be Silly (Bie3 Sha3 Le)

Singer : 周华健  Zhou Hua2 Jian4 (Waikin Chou) and 任贤齐 Ren Xian2 Qi2 (Ritchie Ren)

Bought a DVD of Waikin Chou in Malaysia recently.  There are many great songs in the DVD. This song is just one of them.

It is a simple and easy going song, has sort of down to earth feel to it. It  was originally written by a Malaysian singer known as Ah Di (阿弟). Thus it was no suprising when JB and Singapore are mentioned in the song.

The original version is called

The more polished version by Ritchie and Waikin:

[]

That night, Valentine’s Day
Wanted to give you an unexpected surprise
My heart was very happy
From Johor Baru  driving the car across the causeway
To Singapore looking for you
You did not seem   happy to see me
Accompanied me with a just few casual words
When I presented a gift to you
You said: Don’t be silly
This remark hurt my heart

la……

My heart really felt the pain
My tears flowed non stop
Flowing from Singapore to Johor Bahru’s home
God was  raining on me
What have I really done wrong
I phoned  you to ask
You said you didn’tt want me to think hard about you

Go look at the whole world

I cannot

I only want you

No one can replace you

I wish the very best of everything to you
