The appreciation of English-Chinese witty words and fine lines

Bought a book in Shenzhen’s Book City, with English title: The appreciation of English-Chinese witty words and fine lines
The Chinese title is 英汉妙语佳句赏析。It is published by China City Press:  http://www.citypress.cn/Book/View.asp?id=811

The book has thousands of wise cracks in Chinese and English. A few of them are listed below:

  • A different language is a different vision of live: p17
  • Life is like a roll of toilet paper. The closer it gets to the end, the faster it goes : p25
  • Men are like wine; some turn to vinegar, but the best improve with age : p29
  • Life without an aim is like sailing without the compass: p56
  • Age doesn’t protect you from love. But love, to some extend, protects you from age: p92
  • A  happy life consists in tranquility of mind: p172
  • Happiness is a butterfly, which when persued, is always just beyond your grasp, but which, if you will sit down quietly, may alight upon you: p173
