Shenzhen

In Shenzhen now. Weather is really nice – between 22 to 24 degrees.

Left Xian yesterday morning and took a 2.5 hours flight.

I found that air travel in China to be a breeze. There is no paper tickets nowadays. Just show your passport (for foreigners) and tell them your destination at the check-in counter, and you will be issued boarding pass. The security checks are through, and I’m really impressed. The cabin crews in my Eastern Airline flights are professional and helpful to passengers.

The only problem a traveller may encounter is the travel to or from airport from hotel. Usually the airports are distanced quite far from city centre, and thus taxi fares could easily set one back by 100RMB or more. A cheaper alternative is to take Express City shuttle bus. However, there are few signs available to help the foreign travellers.
